Jubaea chilensis, commonly known as Chilean Palm or Chilean Wine Palm, is one of the largest palm species in the world, notable for its large trunk, which can be up to 1.8m in diameter, and 15-25m in height. The trunk is smooth, light gray, and has a majestic and sturdy appearance. The leaves of the tree are pinnate, long and glossy green, forming a wide, graceful canopy. This tree species grows slowly but has a very long life span, even up to hundreds of years.

Jubaea chilensis Often planted in large landscaped areas such as parks, resorts or main walkways to create a majestic and luxurious highlight. In addition to its aesthetic value, the tree is also known for its sap that can be used to produce palm wine. Palm trees do not require much care from the grower. Palm trees only need a moderate level of care, adequate watering, and their nutritional requirements are also quite simple.

Suitable soil for palm, areca

Palms prefer loam or loam soil, rich in organic matter and fairly well-drained. Most potting mixes, rice husk or peat moss, with a little coarse sand added will do. Generally, a compact, slightly water-retaining soil is sufficient.

Palm trees are light-loving plants, so you should plant them in places with direct light, or ideally strong indirect light.
