The King Fern (Angiopteris evecta) is the largest fern in the world with leaves up to 8m long. They can be found in the Daintree Lowland Rainforest however they do not like to dry out so you will often find them near creeks and other frequently wet areas.

Angiopteris evecta, commonly known as the king fern, giant fern, elephant fern, oriental ship fern, Madagascar tree fern, or la's foot fern, is a very large tropical fern in the family Marattiaceae native to most of Southeast Asia and Oceania. It is about 300 million years old and is said to have the longest leaves of any fern in the world.

Ferns prefer bright indirect light, some species can tolerate direct light but not too much during the day.

Water a lot, but keep it airy. Avoid water stagnation which will cause root rot.

The best humidity for ferns is above 70%.

Ferns have an ideal pH range of 5.0 - 7.0 pH.
