A native of Ecuador and Peru, currently in the process of being scientifically described and published by Dr. Croat, the name plowmanii is given in honor of the late botanist Timothy Charles Plowman (1944-1989). Philodendron Plowmanii has heart-shaped leaves with 2 rounded bases that often point inward to form a deep concave shape, the leaves are medium green, slightly shiny, with raised folds, often with mottled green streaks on the leaf surface. The petiole is flat, with 2 wavy curved edges, the junction between the petiole and the leaf is pale pink. Common forms of Philodendron Plowmanii are 'Blackface', 'Silver', Round form, Narrow form.
