Platycerium Veitchii is the most drought tolerant of all the dragon species and also requires the most sunlight. If placed in less sunlight, their antennae tend to droop and have less white hair. P. Veitchii prefers sunny weather and low humidity, so a special watering regime is needed for this species to maintain its beauty.
Note: The above information is only relative, the living conditions of the tree also depend a lot on other objective factors.
Plant collector John Veitch Jr. discovered this pothos growing on a tree in the Daintree rainforest in 1861. He sent the specimen to his father, James Veitch, a famous nurseryman in England.
James Veitch introduced the fern into European gardening, naming it Platycerium veitchii in honor of his son. Initially, botanists misidentified the fern as Platycerium Grande due to its similarities. Years of debate followed before the unique characteristics of Platycerium Veitchii were finally recognized.
