Begonia rex is one of the most prominent begonias thanks to its unique and colorful foliage. The leaves are heart-shaped, serrated, covered with fine hairs and decorated with beautiful patterns in a combination of many colors such as purple, silver, red, blue or metallic. The stem is rhizomatous, growing close to the ground. The flowers are small, usually white or pale pink, not prominent compared to the leaves. This is a popular ornamental plant thanks to the attractive beauty of its leaves.
