Platycerium Wandae is the largest species of Platycerium Wandae in the wild. Its shields are erect and lobed along the top, forming a basket for collecting water and organic debris. Its antennae are similar to those of Holttumii but have two distinct lobes, one for forming the long antennae and one for developing spores. Like its larger cousins, P. Wandae requires a large space to grow to full maturity. P. Wandae spores develop so easily that they are now grown on spores for export.
