A hybrid of the well-known Philodendron species Verrucosum and Melanochrysum, bred by Keith Henderson in the 1980s and named 'Philodendron Splendid' by Neil Crafter. Philodendron Splendid has elongated heart-shaped leaves with velvety surfaces and bright green veins with a pinkish tinge at the junction of the petiole and leaf.
