Syngonium
Syngonium (Epipremnum aureum) is a genus of climbing plants belonging to the Araceae family, native to the tropical regions of Central and South America. A distinctive feature of Syngonium is the significant change in leaf shape with age: young leaves are typically simple arrow-shaped, while mature leaves can be deeply lobed like a hand.
With its incredibly diverse leaf color palette – from deep green, pink, and red to mottled creamy white – Syngonium is one of the easiest and most popular indoor plants to grow, suitable for both beginner gardeners and collectors of rare mutations.
Syngonium prefers indirect sunlight, tolerates light shade, and should be watered when the topsoil is dry. It can be grown as a low shrub or trained to climb trellises or sphagnum moss to encourage larger, more beautifully lobed leaves.
