Cycadaceae (Cycads)
Cycadaceae (Cycad family) is an ancient family of gymnosperms, dating back to the Mesozoic era, often referred to as "living fossils." They are characterized by their rough, columnar stems and stiff, pinnate leaves that grow in whorls at the apex, resembling palms or ferns. These slow-growing, long-lived plants prefer warm climates and are often cultivated as ornamental plants (like cycads) due to their elegant appearance.
Thanks to its classic, majestic appearance, the Cycas plant is often grown as a feng shui plant in front of houses, villa gardens, or public spaces, symbolizing longevity and good fortune.
This plant prefers sun, well-drained soil, and is quite drought-tolerant once mature. Due to its very slow growth rate (it may only produce a few new leaves each year), a large Cycas plant is often highly valued and considered a long-term landscaping investment.
